VÍDEO Tesoros en el Junker: El gran hallazgo de Año Nuevo

El año comenzó muy bien. El mismo primero de enero me topé con un lote de cerca de 20 autos clásicos abandonados como este Cadillac rosado del 1956. Fotos y vídeo: Andrés O’Neill, Jr.

 

El 2017 ya comenzó bueno para mí. Sí, arrancó bien desde el mismísimo primer día del año. Estuve vacacionando en el área oeste de la Isla durante los últimos días del 2016 para recibir allá el 2017.

Temprano en la tarde del 1 de enero salí con una de mis hermanas y mi sobrina a dar un paseo hasta Joyuda y en un punto del trayecto me topé por casualidad con mi primer gran hallazgo de autos abandonados del año. O sea que como les dije, el año comenzó bien. Era un lote con cerca de 20 autos clásicos.

Digo que lo hallé por casualidad porque está ubicado en un lugar por el que no íbamos a pasar y también porque lo vi gracias a que iba en el asiento frontal de pasajero. De haber estado manejando yo, muy posiblemente no lo hubiera visto. Lo que vi fue algo así como el celaje de un ranchón con las siluetas de autos decrépitos en su interior. Pasamos y por no hacer a mi hermana virar, por poco no le digo nada. Pero la curiosidad me picó y le pedí que virara. Lo hicimos, entramos al lote y la sorpresa que de lo que hallé allí me agradó muchísimo y seguramente a muchos de ustedes también.

This would go on during an entire 4-hour procedure unlike what a pilot does which involves thinking only at take off and landing.
